MAKING HISTORY: CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

HAPPY 100th TO ANNE FROATS - JULY 4, 2024

The City of Indian Wells honored 30-year resident, Anne Froats, with a special Proclamation on her 100th July Fourth birthday. The Cove at Indian Wells Country Club (IWCC) welcomed 50 dear friends and family to the festive party hosted by niece Sandra Batcheller and IWCC pal Vicki Shepard. See fun photos including IWCC General Manager Dennis Coker presenting her with the distinguished City proclamation signed by Mayor Greg Sanders.

Anne has resided for three decades in the historic IWCC abode of musical legend Lawrence Welk. Earlier this year, she graciously gifted the Indian Wells Preservation Foundation with stylishly framed old German sheet music that she discovered in a very high closet cabinet. It’s now part of the City’s archives. Thank you, Anne!

Championed as an inspiration and role model to all who know her, Anne also is a resplendent fashionista – perfectly attired, coiffed and bejeweled for every occasion -- including weekly Wednesday bridge, active exercise, and good times with friends and neighbors.

Married for 80 years, she and her late husband, Lorne, owned several successful Hallmark Stationery businesses and jojoba farms, traveled all over the world and golfed in 45 countries!

Anne’s longevity of life is a blessing. Our community benefits from the knowledge, experiences and spunk that she brings to all. We join the City in paying her homage with recognition as an honorary Lifetime Member of Indian Wells Preservation Foundation.
